Welcome to the events page of the Animal Care League. On this page you will find information on our upcoming events. Our regular events have a page of their own and you can find the link below or in our menu above. We often have other events that come up throughout the year and you will find that information below. Many of the events are fundraisers, which provide vital funds to care for our animals, but we also list social gatherings which provide valuable animal care information or just a chance for you to meet other people who support the care of the wonderful animals at the shelter.
Thursday Night Out

Come visit ACL at our booth for the first Thursday Night Out of the year in Downtown Oak Park! Meet adoptable dogs and spin the prize wheel before stopping by CarefulPeach Boutique to peek at adoptable ACL kitties!
Berwyn Bark in the Park

Proksa Park
In what is sure to be an un-fur-gettable event, the Berwyn Park District invites the community to Bark in the Park at Proksa. Animal Care League will be among other local adoption agencies in attendance along with vendors ranging from pet treats, toys, dog hotels, groomers, and more! The event is free to attend, but you can register here.
Sidewalk Sale

Animal Care League 2nd Chance Shop 808 Harrison St, Oak Park, IL
Join us at ACL's thrift store for carnival games and adoptable cats plus great deals and unique finds! The 2nd Chance Shop will be taking over the sidewalk in front of the store on Harrison for a fun filled day of shopping to support the animals. No matter what you’re looking for, whether it’s jewelry, small furniture, housewares, or to adopt one of our shop cats, you can find it at Animal Care League’s 2nd Chance Shop! All thrift store proceeds benefit the lost and homeless animals in our care.
Clear the Shelters

Animal Care League 1011 Garfield St, Oak Park, IL
NBC and Telemundo owned stations are teaming up with hundreds of shelters across the country to waive adoption fees for Clear the Shelters, a nationwide pet adoption drive on Saturday, August 17 to help find loving homes for animals in need. Last year, we were unable to participate in Clear the Shelters event due to a lack of resources. This year, through the Fund the Shelters Challenge we raised enough money to not only cover the cost of waiving adoption fees, but also to help provide the necessary care to every animal that comes through our doors this summer! We're getting ready for an awesome Clear the Shelters and we hope to see you there!
FREE Intro to Training Class with A Sound Beginning
July 24th, August 28th, September 25th, and October 23rd, 2019 8:00pm- 9:00pm
Animal Care League's Training Facility 1003 Garfield St, Oak Park, IL
This is a free class presented by our friends from A Sound Beginning Program and is open to general public. Whether you just adopted, or you've had your dog a long time, we can help! Join us to learn how dogs learn and how best to teach them and how to begin a positive training plan. Class will begin promptly so please plan to arrive 10 minutes before the class start time. This is a people-training class (without your dog) and you must register (ONE registration covers the whole family).
