Endowment Fund
The ACL Endowment Fund was established to ensure the future of Animal Care League. It is administered by the Oak Park-River Forest Community Foundation. The principal amount in the fund is invested and only the income is used to support operating expenses. The ultimate goal is to build a large enough fund, using only the interest and dividends earned, to annually support ACL operations in the future. Thus, your donation will work for ACL for generations to come. Email [email protected] to learn more.
4 Paws Society
With a planned gift of $10,000 or more to support the homeless animals of ACL, you will become a member of ACL's 4 Paws Society. ACL commits to sheltering the pets of 4 Paws Society members who predecease their animals or are otherwise unable to care for them. When you join the 4 Paws Society, you are taking control of your pet's future and ensuring that they will be provided for and placed in a loving home.
To ensure that your 4 Paws Society membership is documented and that we are prepared to properly care for your pet, please notify us of your intent to make a qualifying planned gift. You can do so by completing ACL's Declaration of Future Intent form.

Sample Attorney Language
Your attorney or financial advisor can work with you to include Animal Care League in your will, trust, or codicil. Below is specific language you and your attorney can use for several common bequest options.
Specific Bequest
States a specific dollar amount, a percentage of your estate or specific property is left to Animal Care League. Sample language:
I give, devise and bequeath ____% of my estate (or specific assets) for the benefit of Animal Care League, 1013 Garfield St, Oak Park, IL 60304, FEIN 23-7367847, to be used for its general purposes.
Residuary Bequest
Made when you intend to leave the residue portion of your assets (your residual estate) after other terms of the will have been satisfied. Sample language:
All the rest, residue and remainder of my estate, both real and personal, I give to Animal Care League, 1013 Garfield St, Oak Park, IL 60304, FEIN 23-7367847, for its general purposes.
Contingent Bequest
Allows you to leave a portion of your estate to Animal Care League if your named beneficiary does not survive you. Sample language:
If [beneficiary name] does not survive me, I devise and bequeath my residuary estate to Animal Care League, 1013 Garfield St, Oak Park, IL 60304, FEIN 23-7367847, for its general purposes.
Other Gifts
You can also leave real estate, IRAs, insurance policies and personal property. Gift annuities and stock are also considered planned gifts and may offer substantial tax advantages.

Planned Giving Workshops
ACL works hosts free annual planned giving workshops in partnership with The Law Firm of Kuczek & Associates. Kuczek & Associates has been in practice since 1984, and does estate planning work exclusively, including wills, trusts, and health care powers of attorney.
