Helping shelter dogs thrive
The dogs on this page have worked with our trainers to learn skills and commands, preparing them for life after the shelter.
Superstar Pup Academy
Superstar Pup Academy is a training program that gives shelter dogs consistent, one-on-one training to address their individual challenges and the stress of living at the shelter. Led by Kima King and her team of trainers with diverse experience, the program sets dogs up for success not only on the adoption floor, but for the rest of their lives.

Our trainers also offer public training classes, funds generated through these classes are used to further enhance our superstar training program.
A Brighter Future
We have watched Superstar Pup Academy grow from an idea into a program that achieves real outcomes. The initiative is still young, but with multiple adoptions and marked behavior improvements in our students, its affect is already clear. As the program grows, we look forward to helping more dogs overcome the challenges they encounter at the shelter.
Thank you to The Irving and Phyllis Millstein Foundation for Animal Welfare, which graciously supports Superstar Pup Academy and other behavior and enrichment programming at Animal Care League through grant funding.
