Vote now for which animals will be featured!
One cat, one dog, and one rabbit will win. Here are the nominees:

Floyd the Street Poet
Formerly living on the streets, and known for being one of the most talkative cats at ACL, it's easy to see how Floyd the Street Poet got his name. This sweet guy also has FIV, an autoimmune disease that makes him more susceptible to getting sick Though FIV cats often wait longer to find homes than others, they can live perfectly happy, normal lives, and we know Floyd's future people are out there!

Beefy Five-Layer Burrito
Beefy Five-Layer Burrito, known by his friends as Beefy, is a true bundle of joy. After originally coming to the shelter as an Oak Park stray, Beefy has made friends with every person he's met. He's a low-to-the ground, compact little guy who never stops smiling, and he's gotten himself to shelter celebrity status—ask anyone!

Lilian
Lilian is a sweet and curious bunny who was rescued from underneath a car over the summer. About one year old, she's a larger rabbit who hopes she can find a home soon—ideally with a rabbit companion! Lilian was a little shy at first after her past experiences, but she's gained so much confidence and started to show so much personality.

Kenny
Kenny is known for his adorable eyebrows and his sweet face. He also happens to be ACL's second-longest-term resident, at almost two and a half years at the shelter. Kenny recently came back from foster care, where he was able to relax, be himself, and show his goofy, sweet personality. Now in his kennel once again, he's been pretty stressed. We hope someone will take a chance on this sweet, dog-friendly boy soon!

Mort
Mort is so small that she is often mistaken for a kitten. In reality, she's about two, and she's ready to steal your heart! Mort was returned to the shelter in 2024 when she started showing strange symptoms. These symptoms turned out to be a liver shunt, which caused blood to bypass her liver. Thanks to our supporters, we were able to get her the surgery she needed, and she's made an amazing recovery! Now, all Mort needs is a home!

MarshBruno
MarshBruno is one of the biggest dogs at ACL, and one of the our longest-term residents. But while he may be large, he's pretty much 100% goofball. Marsh loves meeting people, is great with other dogs, and is really just hoping someone will take a chance on him soon!

Patches
Patches, his mother Bridget, and his eight siblings—just nine days old at the time—came to the shelter in the summer of 2024. Now, Patches is the only one left without a home. Though a little shy, he's a sweet and curious bunny who would love the chance to open up in a home. He especially loves being with other rabbits!

Sir Legsalot
This very handsome kitty came into the shelter as an Oak Park stray with some serious digestive issues. But after some treatment and a special diet, Leggy's condition is well under control! Now that he's a happy cat, all he needs is a loving home!

Avocado
Avocado is a spirited pup, and one of ACL's longest-term residents. He was also among the first group of students to enter our Superstar Pup Academy: a training program to help our shelter dogs find homes and stay thriving. Avocado has made amazing progress, and we can't wait to see him find his people!

Iris
We met Iris when she was abandoned at our door in a box. On that day, she was timid, and she showed many signs of neglect. Today, it's a different story! Iris is now confident and hilariously sassy, never shying away from letting you know what she wants. She's small but mighty!
