When a stray pet enters the shelter, it will be held for a designated holding period before being put up for adoption. This period is decided by the village in which the animal was found, not by Animal Care League. Animals found in Oak Park are held for a period of five days before entering the adoption program.
A 501(c)3 nonprofit organization supported by community donations and volunteers, Animal Care League is committed to providing shelter, medical care, and comfort to animals in need. We find new homes for homeless animals through our adoption program, provide low-cost clinic services, and offer other community resources, including free classes for students and a pet food pantry.
